The integration of ShipSmart with Shopify allows you to automate the process of freight quotation and international shipping directly at your store's checkout.
Below, we explain how this process works, from quoting to scheduling the pickup.
1. Quoting on Shopify
When a customer requests a quote on your store's website, the system checks if the product's SKU is registered with ShipSmart.
2. SKU Verification
- If the SKU is registered, the system displays the available shipping options (FedEx, DHL, UPS, etc.).
- If the SKU is not registered, the system will not display any shipping options to the customer.
3. Order Creation
After the customer selects the shipping option, the order with international shipping is created in the system.
4. Verification of Complete Data
- The system checks if all the necessary information for shipping is complete.
- If all data is correct, the order will be created as a shipment ready to be sent.
- If there are missing details, the order will be saved as a draft, and you will need to complete the information on the ShipSmart dashboard.
5. Completing Data (if needed)
For orders created as drafts, access the ShipSmart dashboard and complete the pending information so the order can be finalized as a shipment.
6. Scheduling the Pickup:
After creating the order as a shipment, the next step is to schedule the pickup, where you can set the date for the carrier to collect the package from the origin.
