After configuring the integration with ShipSmart and creating the shipping policies, it’s essential to perform shipping quotation tests and adjust the checkout interface to ensure a seamless shopping experience for your customers.
Performing Quotation Tests
After completing the setup, it's important to check that the shipping quotes appear correctly at checkout. Follow these steps to verify:
- Ensure that all products are registered with the correct NCM.
- In your store’s checkout, simulate an international order to verify the shipping options.
- Review the available shipping options:
- Free Shipping (zero value): The default setting of the VTEX zeroed table.
- Carrier (DHL, FedEx, etc.): The actual shipping cost calculated through the integration with ShipSmart.
- If shipping values do not appear as expected, review the settings and ensure that the products' NCMs and integrations are correct.
Front-End Adjustments in the Checkout
To avoid confusion from displaying "Free Shipping" as an option at checkout, you need to adjust the store's front-end code to hide this information and ensure that only the correct shipping options are shown.
- Make visual customizations in the store’s checkout.
- Adjust the code to remove or hide the "Free Shipping" message, highlighting only the actual shipping rates calculated by ShipSmart.
- Test the checkout process again to ensure that all information is displayed correctly to the customer.
