ShipSmart's Quotes offer you a complete estimate of your package’s shipping cost, including freight, applicable taxes, and duties at the final destination.
Getting quotes on ShipSmart is quick and easy, all you need to do is provide us with some basic details and you should receive a detailed quote with the total cost (freight, estimated taxes) and available shipping options within seconds.
1. Log in to your ShipSmart account
If you don't have an account yet, learn how to create your ShipSmart account.
2. Access the Quotes section
Click on the "Quotation & Shipping" button in the upper right corner of the screen. This option can also be easily found in the platform menu, following the path "Menu > Services > Quotation & Shipping".
3. Select the type of shipment
Choose between sending a box or an envelope with documents.
Add insurance if you wish. Insurance protects you in case of loss or damage to your shipment. Learn more about when we recommend insurance and why.
4. Choose the currency for the quote:
When different currencies are selected for the quotation currency and the payment currency, a conversion is performed when processing the payment.
5. Fill in the origin and destination fields:
Fill in the address from where the package will be sent and the address where it will arrive. If you already have addresses registered in your account, all you need to do is type the name of the address and the rest of the information will be filled in. Learn how to register addresses on the platform.
6. Fill in the box details and add it:
- Box name: Assign a name to the box for easy identification. If you have already registered a box, enter its name and select it.
- Box dimensions: Enter the box dimensions in centimetres (height, width, and length).
- Box weight: Enter the total weight of the box in kilograms. Remember to write the weight with two decimals, for example, 1.00 kg for 1 kg or 0.50 kg for 500 grams.
- If you have multiple boxes of the same size and weight, by clicking on "Duplicate", you can clone them instead of entering each box separately again.
- You can also save the details of that box by clicking on the floppy disk icon if you plan to send an identical box in the future.
- If you're sending another box with different dimensions and weights, click on "Add Box" to include it.
7. Request the quote:
Press the "Quotate" button to get different shipping prices according to the available options.
8. Select the carrier and shipping duration:
Choose the carrier of your preference and the duration of the shipment. The delivery time is an estimate and may vary due to factors such as customs clearance or non-working days.
For convenience, you can sort quotes by delivery speed or price, allowing you to find the option that best suits your needs.
9. Complete the process:
Click on "Select" to confirm your carrier choice and then on "Continue" to proceed with tax calculation and finalize the process.
At this step, you can also save the quote for later. Just click on "Add Description" to easily identify in the future. Please note that saving the quote does not fix the prices, as these may be updated.
Remember:
- You can save origin and destination addresses for future quotes.
- You can save box details so you don't have to fill it in again when sending an identical box in the future.
